Where did you come up with the concept that just placed as Finalist in the screenplay contest? How long did it take you to develop it into the screenplay it is now?
The story is about a Customs Broker and how she became one. There is little written about the Customs Broker trade and how difficult it is to become one.
I thought that was also an opportunity to write about the infuence of latins in the field of ligistics in South Florida.
Defenitevely it is a story that has not been told before.
From concept to finished draft, can you take us through your screenwriting process?
I know the logistics field in Miami, and I found out about a contest about latins in the US, and I thought it was a good story. I never submit to that contest, but I wrote the story in the context of a Miami Customs Broker.
When did you realize that you wanted to become a screenwriter?
I always wanted to write a book, and researching about I found about screenplay writing, I went deep into it and I loved it.
Who are your biggest filmmaking/screenwriting influences? What about their style do you like or borrow?
The writers of the Die Hard franchise. I wish I had their entertainment creativity.
Have you ever been obsessed with a movie or TV show? If so, which one? Why?
Jurasic Park. Great original concept. The movie made the dinosours re-born and took them out from the museums.
What’s your favorite moment in cinema history? Why?
Computer animation. It opened a complte new world of opportunities for creativity and film development.
